Image... Okay, if you just left a camelia bush to grow & grow, would it grow into a tree? We have a HUGE camelia tree in our front yard, as high as the house. These are its flowers. Image... then beside it we have off-spring shrubs with a paler flower (as per pic). Is all this normal?

These are my large large potted plants out on the deck. Pony tail plant around 12 years old Image...
and a member of the Cordyline family.. Image...

Pretty plants. The cats must love playing with the flax thingie when there is a gentle breeze.

Sorry though, I can't really help you with your question.

Some definitely do grow as high as the house BB. There is a beauty over at an old abandoned and falling down house over the road from us. It is huge and the property owner thinks it may be as old as 50 years - so far as he can track back. So far as your other smaller ones, I guess they will be seedlings that have come from cross pollinated seed cases. Thats the fun of growing from seed- youi never know where the bees went firts and what colours they will bring in with them 8)
That pale pink looks really pretty.
I am not a great fan of camellias for their flower power because they suffer so badly from wind damage and the flowers last such a short time. The foliage is great though and never seems to get attacked or sad looking. We do have a few and where they are tucked well out of the wind they do pretty well. My favourite is Nucios Pearl - its a tight double in the softest shell pink and white. Just gorgeous.
